Dear Parents and Carers

Non-School Uniform Day – Friday 13th November for Children in Need

To support the Children in Need charity we would like to invite the children to wear non-school uniform this Friday 13th November.

We won’t be accepting cash within school this year however you can make your donation via the link below.  We have teamed up with Parentpay allowing money to go straight to the charity, also if you are a UK tax payer you can allow the charity to claim an extra 25p for every £1 you give.  Though we are asking for £1 to participate in the non-school uniform day you can donate up to £100 using this link without having a Parentpay account or using your usual Parentpay login.

 Thank you for your generosity.

Dear Parents & Carers,

I hope you have all had a lovely summer and are staying well throughout this difficult time.

We have been busy preparing the school for the children's return and are really looking forward to welcoming everyone back tomorrow. We have missed you all!

Please find attached the Reopening Plan for Parents which was sent out in July. I would encourage all families to have a read through again in preparation for tomorrow so that everyone is clear about the new  arrangements we have in place. Please pay particular attention to arrival and departure times as well as the gates that children in each year group will use. Remember that the Littlefields and High Street gates will not be open and that all access is from the main West Street entrance only. It is vital that everyone is punctual please as this will allow us to keep the pods separate. Staff will be outside tomorrow to help so please don't worry.

It would also be useful to read the government's publication about returning to school which contains important key information. This is linked below:

Only one parent should accompany the children to school please and where possible with the older children we would encourage them to come up the drive on their own. This will minimise the amount of people on the drive at any one time which will obviously help with social distancing.

As we are asked not to have visitors on site at the present time we would ask that parents contact school via phone or email. Any visitors to school MUST have a prearranged appointment.

Finally I would like to acknowledge that many of you may be feeling apprehensive about sending your children back tomorrow (although I am sure there may also be some of you who have been counting the days!) Please be reassured that the staff have worked incredibly hard to prepare the school for full reopening and we take the health and safety of everyone, especially in the current climate, very seriously. I have attached the health & safety guidelines for children and parents which I would ask you to read please and we will obviously use the guidelines for the children in school.

Best wishes,
Claire

Dear Parents & Carers,

Hope you are all keeping safe and well.

Given the current situation we are aware that children (along with many of us) may be spending an increased amount of time online, both for supporting their learning and during their free time for recreation and social interaction. In light of this we want to ensure children are taking the steps to protect themselves whilst online. They have had lots of teaching on this at school but having those conversations or building some online safety work in as part of your home learning schedule now would be a great and timely reminder for them.

Below is a link to some online safety activities and resources you can use at home to support those vital conversations with children about how they are looking after themselves and keeping themselves safe online.

Hope this is helpful.

Best Wishes,
Ben Summers

In preparation for the children returning tomorrow please be aware of the following points regarding breakfast and after school club:

  • Children will enter breakfast club and leave after school club via the top gate in the playground. The gate will be kept closed. Parents need to bring their children in and buzz the gate please.  A member of staff will then meet them.
  • Parents will not be able to come into school and should wait at the gate when collecting. Staff will sign the children in and out.
  • In the past some children have changed their clothes at after school club as they have been going on to another club. Due to current restrictions we can no longer allow this to happen.
We hope that you will understand why these changes have been necessary and look forward to seeing lots of children back at breakfast and after school club.
