Whole School letters

Dear parents & carers,

Just a quick email to wish you all a happy half term! We hope you and your families stay well and get to enjoy some quality time together. To those children and families that have been unwell we wish you a speedy recovery.

Please remember that Monday the 1st November is an inset day so we will look forward to welcoming children and parents back to school on Tuesday 2nd November.

Please also remember that from the first day back you will need to order your child's meals in advance online via Parentpay. Details of how to do this are on our website and were also emailed earlier in the week. Your child will not be able to order a meal in the morning as they have been, so please ensure you know your Parentpay login.

We would also like to remind you that the deadline for secondary school applications is 31st October. You can apply online here: https://www.n-somerset.gov.uk/my-services/schools-learning/school-admissions/applying-school-place

Have fun and stay safe,

Claire Pocock

Dear Parents and carers,

From Term 2 we will be moving to online meal bookings for lunches. This will enable children to choose the meal they would like, reduce food waste and streamline admin systems both in class and in the office.

Attached is a simple guide on how to make the meal bookings online, but if you have any queries please speak or email the school office and we will assist you. The new menu is also attached, but is also on Parentpay to make it easier for selection. (Please note, as we are entering the winter term, we will no longer be offering sandwiches.) If you have previously informed us of a dietary requirement, please still book a meal this way and the kitchen will be alerted when booked.

Please be aware that even if your child is in Puffin or Kingfisher Class and receives free Universal School Meals, or is in receipt of Income-Based Free School Meals, you must still make your selection. This must be done by the evening before you would like the meal. Your child will no longer be able to order a lunch in school in the morning.

We hope that this will be an efficient way of managing school lunches, and thank you in advance for your co-operation.

Kind regards

Banwell Primary

On-Line Safety
Dear Parents & Carers,
Hope you are all keeping safe and well.
Given the current situation we are aware that children (along with many of us) may be spending an increased amount of time online, both for supporting their learning and during their free time for recreation and social interaction. In light of this we want to ensure children are taking the steps to protect themselves whilst online. They have had lots of teaching on this at school but having those conversations or building some online safety work in as part of your home learning schedule now would be a great and timely reminder for them.
Below is a link to some online safety activities and resources you can use at home to support those vital conversations with children about how they are looking after themselves and keeping themselves safe online.
Hope this is helpful.
Best Wishes,
Ben Summers
